DESCRIPTION/ORDERINGINFORMATION
The SN54LVCH244A octal buffer/line driver is designed for 2.7-V to 3.6-V VCC operation, and the SN74LVCH244Aoctalbuffer/linedriver isdesignedfor1.65-Vto3.6-VVCCoperation.
Thesedevicesareorganizedastwo4-bit linedriverswithseparateoutput-enable(OE) inputs.WhenOEislow, these devices pass data from theA inputs to theYoutputs.WhenOE is high, the outputs are in the high-impedancestate.
Activebus-hold circuitry holds unusedor undriven inputs at a valid logic state. Useof pullupor pulldown resistorswiththebus-holdcircuitryisnotrecommended.
Inputscanbedrivenfromeither3.3-Vor5-Vdevices.Thisfeatureallowstheuseof thesedevicesastranslators inamixed3.3-V/5-Vsystemenvironment.
Thesedevicesare fullyspecified for partial-power-downapplicationsusing Ioff. The Ioff circuitrydisables the outputs,preventingdamagingcurrentbackflowthroughthedeviceswhentheyarepowereddown.
Toensurethehigh-impedancestateduringpoweruporpowerdown,OEshouldbetiedtoVCCthroughapullup resistor; theminimumvalueof theresistor isdeterminedbythecurrent-sinkingcapabilityof thedriver.
